Cable management is usually the last thing people fix on a desk setup, mostly because it's the least visible problem — until you look down. Here are five approaches, roughly in order of how much effort they take.
1. Get cables off the floor
An under-desk cable tray is the single highest-impact change: it clamps to the underside of the desk and catches power bricks and cords before they reach the floor.
2. Bundle what runs together
Any cables running the same direction (monitor to PC, charger to hub) can be grouped with clips so they move as one line instead of a tangle.
3. Box the excess
Power strips and surge protectors rarely need to be seen. A ventilated cable management box hides them while still allowing airflow so nothing overheats.
4. Route, don't drape
A cable raceway along the back edge of the desk keeps cords in a straight line instead of drooping and swinging every time the desk gets bumped.
5. Label before you forget
Once cables are inside a tray or box, it's easy to lose track of which is which. A simple tag at each end saves time the next time you need to unplug just one thing.
